January
25, 2009 - Medical Loan Equipment Storage Room Rehabilitation
- Boy Scouts from Troop 350 - Westwood, under the leadership of Scoutmaster
Anthony "O2" Catalano, spent many hours this weekend
bringing our Loan Equipment Storage Room back to life. Since
moving into our present Headquarters in 1995, the Medical Equipment Loan program
has been run out of a
small basement room. The WVAC has loaned
thousands of pieces of donated medical equipment to the residents of
Westwood and neighboring towns. Over the years, many of our neighboring
towns' volunteer ambulance corps have stopped providing this free
service. Our storage room could barely hold another set of
crutches.
Scouts
measured the room, drew up plans to reorganize the space, made a
materials list, purchased the materials, and cut and installed racking
that brought our outdated room back to life - CPR of sorts to our
Medical Equipment Loan Program.
We
thank them very much for their volunteer service and look forward to
the day when we can welcome them as volunteers with the WVAC.
